RIPER STUDENTS COUNCIL

Student’s council  

The student council will act as an umbrella body for all the clubs and committees on campus, ensuring their smooth functioning at each juncture. Apart from being the link between the students and the management, the Student Council will be responsible for the brand enhancement of the campus and will constantly strive towards making the experience of the student on campus comfortable and enriching.

It will be the responsibility of the Council to ensure that all events, activities and interactions on campus are conducted in a manner acceptable to the culture and norms of the university. The Council will assist all clubs and committees on campus with their functioning and conducting of various other activities. It is spearheaded by its secretary who is selected from among the members. Guided by a group of teachers, it plans and organizes various co-curricular student centric programs staggered through the academic year.

Aim

• The aim of the Council is to help students engage themselves in meaningful pursuits outside the co-curricular programme of the College and to provide opportunities for training as good citizens.
• The Council will try to achieve these aims mainly through debates, lectures, meetings and cultural programmes.

Role of the Student Council

• To promote the interests of the students
• To assist and advise the students
• To be the link between students and management

• Providing training and team development activities for the students
• Assisting the students in liaising with management
• Providing guidance, advices to the students if required
• Liaising the between the students and staff by putting students issues on the agenda at staff meetings
• Helping to raise the profile of the students
• Monitoring and evaluating the development of the students

Students Council Constitution

Six different post of student’s council i.e. General Secretary, Academic Secretary, Cultural Secretary, Sports Secretary, Magazine Secretary and Ladies Representative are allocated to each department based on rotation system. Each department elects their representative from students and staff for the allocated post.

Student council organizes Annual Social Gathering, Conferences, and Annual Sports events every year. In addition to this, council also organizes various extra-curricular and co-curricular activities and celebrates various days i.e. Independence Day, Republic Day, Teachers Day, and traditional Day during each academic year.
