Foreign / NRI Category: Who Can Apply
RIPER admits candidates under Indian / Domestic (General) or Foreign / NRI category (International), on fulfilling the eligibility requirements. All admissions are done on the basis of merit.
Foreign / NRI category seats are available only for:
- Foreign Nationals
- Candidates with NRI status
- Candidates sponsored by relatives with NRI status
- Overseas Citizen of India (OCI)
- Person of Indian Origin (PIO)
Foreign / NRI category seats are NOT equivalent to payment / management / reserved seats.
- Foreign / NRI / NRI Sponsored Category Admissions:
Raghavendra Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (RIPER) allocates 15 % of seats under the Foreign / NRI category. This includes Foreign Nationals, Person of Indian Origin (PIO) Card Holders, Overseas Citizen of India (OCI), Non-Resident Indian (NRI) and NRI Sponsored candidates (sponsored by parents OR brother / sister of parents* OR brother / sister of the candidate* OR grandparents of the candidate* OR spouse of the candidate*).
* The sponsorer must be a foreign national or hold NRI status.
All Foreign / NRI / NRI Sponsored admissions to UG & PG programs (other than those listed in the note below), will be on a first-cum-first-serve merit basis, subject to the candidate’s performance in the 10+2 (for UG programs) / Bachelor Degree (for PG programs) or equivalent examination in addition to meeting the various eligibility requirements of respective programs as stipulated by the regulatory bodies. There will be NO entrance examinations. Candidates who have confirmed their admission under the Foreign / NRI category, by paying the full first year program fee CANNOT take an admission under the General category.

Admission Process for International Students

VISA REQUIREMENTS:
Steps to Apply for an Indian Student e-Visa
- Confirm Eligibility: Students should check if they are eligible for the Indian e-Visa on the official Government of India e-Visa website.
- Gather Required Documents: Prepare necessary documents for both the student and any accompanying family members.
- Fill out the Online Application: The student must complete the application form on the e-Visa portal, pay the fee, and submit the required documents online.
- Receive and Print the e-Visa: After approval, the e-Visa will be sent electronically. Print a copy to present at the immigration checkpoint upon arrival.
- Arrive in India: Students should bring their passport, printed e-Visa, and supporting documents when arriving in India.
Documents Required for Student e-Visa
For Students:
Passport: Valid for at least six months from the intended arrival date, with at least two blank pages.
Admission Letter: Proof of admission or acceptance from a recognized Indian institute.
ID Photos: Recent, passport-sized color photos.
Visa Application Form: Filled out with accurate and updated information.
Proof of Residence: Document showing where the student plans to stay during the course of study.
Past Academic Records: Transcripts, diplomas, or certificates may be required by some consulates.
For Accompanying Family Members (if applicable):
- Passport: Valid for at least six months from the arrival date.
- Relationship Proof: Documents like birth or marriage certificates to prove the relationship with the student.

Additional Notes
- Conversion Restrictions: A student visa cannot be converted to other visa types (e.g., tourist or work visa).
- Part-time Work Restrictions: India has strict regulations on employment for foreign students. Permission from the educational institution and Indian authorities is generally required for internships or work-study programs.
- FRRO Registration: For stays longer than 180 days, registration with the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) within 14 days of arrival is mandatory.
REGISTRATION:
All international students studying at RIPER are required to register online through e-FRRO portal within 14 days of arrival in India.
International students holding OCI card are exempted from FRRO registration. However, such students must have
Form C, generated by Indian citizen / owner of the residence providing accommodation. No student can generate Form C on their own.
