- Part-time Work Restrictions: India has strict regulations on employment for foreign students. Permission from the educational institution and Indian authorities is generally required for internships or work-study programs.
- FRRO Registration: For stays longer than 180 days, registration with the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) within 14 days of arrival is mandatory.
- Key Tips for a Smooth Process
- Double-Check Visa Type: Ensure the application is for a “Student Visa” specifically and not for a tourist or business visa.
- Check for Updates: Requirements can change, so it’s wise to check the latest on the Indian embassy’s website in the student’s home country.
For detailed guidance, students should refer to the official visa services website of India or consult the Indian consulate nearest to them.
