Definition of Ragging

Any disorderly conduct whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, or handling with rudeness any other student, in rowdy or undisciplined activities which causes or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension thereof in a fresher or a junior student or asking the students to do any act or perform something which such student will not do in the ordinary course and which has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame or embarrassment so as to adversely affect the physique or psyche of a fresher or a junior student.

Frequency of Meeting:

A meeting will be held at beginning of each academic year, just before the commencement of class work for first year. Further, whenever required once the compliant is received.

Grievance and Redressed cell

A Grievance & Redressal Cell has been constituted in Raghavendra Institute of Pharmaceutical Education & Research, RIPER is in accordance with the regulations of University Grants Commission. Principal, was nominate as chairman of the Grievance Redressal Cell, he will be assisted by Vice-Chairman and two members. The Grievance Redressal Cell has been formed solely to provide solutions for the grievances of the students which arise then and there. The students are fully free to submit their grievances regarding academic or personal matters in the meeting held on first week of every month, by dropping in the suggestions boxes provided in our campus. On receipt of the grievances the Grievance Redressal Cell scrutinizes, analyzes carefully and discusses with the concerned person to find out on amicable solution without affecting the interests of both the parties. If the grievances are found to be not genuine, the students are explained about the reasons for not implementing them. In all cases maintaining strict confidentiality is ensured by the Grievance Redressal Cell.

Frequency of Meeting:

Grievance Redressal Cell will have meetings once in a year at year end, and also immediatly after a complaint has raised.

Students’ Welfare and foreign affairs

Students’ Welfare and foreign affairs committee looks after the protection of rights and supervises the welfare activities of the students of Constituent Units of Raghavendra Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (RIPER). It promotes and co-ordinates the different students’ activities for better corporate life. The committee tries to nurture students’ mental, physical, cultural growth with various activities to improve their overall personality development and to make them civilized Indian citizens to compete in the globalized world. Further this committee will look into all aspects that allow the smooth study of Foreign Nationals in our college.

Women Empowerment Cell

Women Empowerment Cell (WEC) has been constituted to empower and safeguard the rights of female students and faculty/staff of the College. The WEC works to promote gender sensitivity in the college and conduct diverse programmes to educate, sensitize both male and female members and produce harmonious atmosphere on the campus. It works for the welfare of the students and faculty towards preparing them into competent professionals to take up greater challenges in the academic sphere.

Placement and Industry – Institution Interaction Cell

An active Placement and Industry – Institution Interaction Cell (PII Cell) has been functioning in the College. The function of the Cell is to promote closer interaction between the academic field and the professional field. Industry Institute Interaction Cell is established to provide closer links with industries. The purpose of the cell is to find out the gap between need of the industry and end product of the institute. The cell is the bridge between the industry, the real world and the institute. Industrial exposure of Faculty is very much helpful to guide students about latest industrial practices. Industries are able to know recent developments and inventions in their fields and implement projects for technologically driven economy.

Functions

• To co-ordinate all the activities related to placement and industrial training.
• To invite industries for campus drives.
• To arrange an industrial tour, industrial training and guest lectures.
• To initiate and co-ordinate for MoU with various industries.
• To maintain documents related to training, placement, MoU and campus drive.
• To obtain assistance from industry regarding chemicals, instruments, books and services.

Frequency of Meeting: Whenever it is required once the need is arise as well as at the end of each semester.

Extra- Curricular Activities Committee

The Extra- Curricular Activities Committee provides a platform for students to exhibit their skills and talents. It is a forum, where through the mode of cultural activities, like-minded people meet each other, exchange ideas and develop into better human beings. The Institution has been organizing various extracurricular activities in the name of cultural clubs and NSS for the overall development of students.

Admissions Committee

The Admissions Committee is responsible for the graduate student admissions in the program. This committee will also develop contacts with other relevant graduate admissions committees with the goal of identifying potential candidates who would be more appropriate for the program. The admissions committee endeavours to identify applicants with the greatest likelihood of success in attaining their degrees. Applicants to be interviewed or recruited are identified by the committee and, when possible, invited to visit for an interview. In addition, the admissions committee tracks the success of the admissions process each year by maintaining a database of pertinent information on the applicants. This committee reviews admission requirements for the program annually. Recommendations for change in the standards for admission are made to the steering committee.

Alumni Association

Alumni Association for Raghavendra Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research is framed to facilitate communication between the present students and our Alumni. The committee welcomes the participation of Alumni and encourages them to contact the Association with suggestions and concerns, or to nominate additional members.

The Association owns the following responsibilities:

• To provides a forum to establish a link between the college and its alumni and strives to strengthen the life long relationship between them
• To enable the alumni to participate in activities which contribute to the general development of the institute.
• To provide and disseminate information regarding their alumni mater, faculties and students to the alumni.
• To contributes towards the welfare of the alumni.
