Composition\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

  1. Head of the Department concerned (Chairman). 2. The entire faculty of each specialization.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Two subject experts from outside the Parent University to be\u00a0 nominated by the Academic Council.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. One expert to be nominated by the Vice-Chancellor from a\u00a0 panel of six recommended by the college principal. 5. One representative from industry\/corporate sector\/allied\u00a0 area relating to placement.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. One postgraduate meritorious alumnus to be nominated by\u00a0 the principal. The Chairman, Board of Studies, may with\u00a0 the approval of the principal of the college, co-opt:\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    (a) Experts from outside the college whenever special courses of\u00a0 studies are to be formulated.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    (b) Other members of staff of the same faculty.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Term : The term of the nominated members shall be three years. Meetings : The Board of Studies shall meet at least twice a year. <\/span>Functions:\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

    The Board of Studies of a Department in the college shall:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    1. prepare syllabi for various courses keeping in view the\u00a0 objectives of the college, interest of the stakeholders and\u00a0 national requirements for consideration and approval of the\u00a0 Academic Council;\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
    2. suggest methodologies for innovative teaching and\u00a0 evaluation techniques;\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
    3. suggest a panel of names to the Academic Council for\u00a0 appointment of examiners; and\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
    4. coordinate research, teaching, extension and other\u00a0 academic activities in the department\/college.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      ACADEMIC COUNCIL COMPOSITION\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

      3. Four teachers of the college representing different categories of\u00a0 teaching staff by rotation on the basis of seniority of service in the\u00a0 college.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
      4. Not less than four experts\/academicians from outside the college\u00a0 representing such areas as Industry, Commerce, Law, Education,\u00a0 Medicine, Engineering, Sciences, etc., to be nominated by the\u00a0 Governing Body.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
      5. Three nominees of the university not less than Professors. 6. A faculty member nominated by the Principal (Member Secretary).\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Term : The term of the nominated members shall be three years. Meetings : Academic Council shall meet at least twice a year. <\/span>Functions of the Academic Council:\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

        The Academic Council shall have powers to:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

        1. Scrutinize and approve the proposals with or without modification of\u00a0 the Boards of Studies with regard to courses of study, academic\u00a0 regulations, curricula, syllabi and modifications thereof, instructional\u00a0 and evaluation arrangements, methods, procedures relevant thereto\u00a0 etc., provided that where the Academic Council differs on any\u00a0 proposal, it shall have the right to return the matter for\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          reconsideration to the Board of Studies concerned or reject it, after\u00a0 giving reasons to do so.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

          1. Make regulations regarding the admission of students to different\u00a0 programmes of study in the college keeping in view the policy of the\u00a0 Government.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
          2. Make regulations for sports, extra-curricular activities, and proper\u00a0 maintenance and functioning of the playgrounds and hostels. D. Recommend to the Governing Body proposals for institution of new\u00a0 programmes of study.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
          3. Recommend to the Governing Body institution of scholarships,\u00a0 studentships, fellowships, prizes and medals, and to frame regulations\u00a0 for the award of the same.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
          4. Advise the Governing Body on suggestions(s) pertaining to academic\u00a0 affairs made by it.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n

              Functions of the Governing Body:\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

              Subject to the existing provision in the bye-laws of the respective college and\u00a0 rules laid down by the state government\/parent university, the Governing\u00a0 Body shall:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

              • Guide the college while fulfilling the objectives for which the college\u00a0 has been granted autonomous status.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
              • Institute scholarships, fellowships, studentships, medals, prizes, and\u00a0 certificates on the recommendations of the Academic Council <\/span>\u2022 <\/span>Approve new programmes of study leading to degrees and\/or\u00a0 diplomas.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
              • All recruitments of Teaching Faculty\/Principal shall be made by the\u00a0 Governing Body\/state government as applicable in accordance with\u00a0 the policies laid down by the UGC and State Government from time to\u00a0 time.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
              • To approve the annual budget of the college before submitting the\u00a0 same at the UGC.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n

                            IAEC<\/b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

                            FUNCTIONS<\/b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

                            1. The primary duty of IAEC is to work for achievement of the\u00a0 objectives as mentioned above.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
                            2. IAEC should focus mainly on ensuring ethical and methodical\u00a0 handling of animals during and after experiments so that they have\u00a0 less suffering.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
                            3. IAEC will review and approve all types of protocols for research\u00a0 involving small animal experimentation before the start of the\u00a0 study. For the approval of experimentation on large animals, the\u00a0 case is required to be forwarded to CPCSEA in a prescribed\u00a0 manner with the recommendation of IAEC.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
                            4. IAEC is required to monitor the research throughout the study and\u00a0 after completion of the study, IAEC shall obtain periodic reports on\u00a0 research development and shall ensure a visit to the animal house\u00a0 facility and laboratory where the experiments are conducted. The\u00a0 committee has to ensure compliance with all regulatory\u00a0 requirements, applicable rules, guidelines and laws.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                              1. President: The principal of RIPER will be ex officio President of RIPER\u00a0 Alumni Association. He shall preside over all the meetings of the\u00a0 Association. He is the sole in charge of the association and he shall\u00a0 advise\/guide on all matters pertaining to the administration of the\u00a0 association.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
                              2. Vice-President: The Vice Principal of RIPER will be ex officio Vice President of the Association. He has to act as a President in the absence\u00a0 of the President. He coordinates with the President and Secretary in all\u00a0 aspects of the association.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
                              3. Secretary: He has to be elected by the general body of the association and\u00a0 shall be responsible for the functioning and execution of the\u00a0 administration of the association. He is responsible to run all the business\u00a0 of the association. He has to maintain the records and documents of the\u00a0 association.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
                              4. Treasurer: He has to be elected by the members of the general body of the\u00a0 association. It is the responsibility of the treasurer to maintain the\u00a0 finances of the association under the supervision and guidance of the\u00a0 executive committee.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
                              5. Joint Secretary: He has to be elected by the members of the general body\u00a0 of the association. He has to help the Secretary in all matters of the\u00a0 association. He has to maintain the register of members of the\u00a0 Association.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
                              6. Executive Members: They shall assist the treasurer in collecting funds\u00a0 from members of the association in the form of fees, donations and gifts.\u00a0 They can suggest the President and Secretary in all other matters of the\u00a0 association.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                                        • The practice of integrity and national harmony by the volunteers. <\/span>The motto of NSS is \u201cnot me, but you\u201d. This motto reflects the need for selfless <\/span>service. The motto underlines the fact that the welfare of an individual <\/span>ultimately depends on the welfare of society. Therefore, NSS shall work for the <\/span>\u00a0<\/span>benefit of the whole society. National service scheme was started on 24 <\/span>\u00a0<\/span>September in 1969, hence, every year 24<\/span>th <\/span>day of September is celebrated as <\/span>\u00a0<\/span>NSS day.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
