Since 2002, genesis of the institute, it has been led by a team of Pharmacy professionals and their continuous efforts to establish itself as an internationally recognized Pharmacy research institute. Today it has been a nationally ranked institution, at 20th Place by National Institute Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2016, by the Government of India. There are additional feathers on its cap; RIPER is accredited by National bodies such as NAAC and NBA, recognized as best private pharmacy institute in India by Indo-Italian One Planet Research 2015; also bagged Best Intellectual Capital Award from Faculty Branding award 2014.
Dr. Y. Padmanabha Reddy is a Professor at the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Anantapur (JNTUA), Anantapuramu and Principal of Raghavendra Institute of Pharmaceutical Education & Research (RIPER) where he teaches courses dealing with Pharmaceutical Analysis & Research. He has nearly 30 years of rich experience in academics and research. He earned his bachelor’s (1985) and post graduation (1987) in pharmacy from Andhra University, (AU College of Science & Technology). Doctorate of Philosophy (2005) from Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences (AU) and Institution of Chemists (India), Calcutta conferred Dr. Y. Padmanabha Reddy with FIC during 2005 for his tireless contribution for the profession. For more than 20 years, he led a team that conceptualized and implemented innovative research services in field of pharmacy. Dr. Padmanabha Reddy is one of the most distinguished personalities in Pharmacy field, with more honorary positions and membership in professional bodies. He is one of a reputed guide and supervisor approved by the affiliating university Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Anantapur (JNTUA) for Doctorate of Philosophy programme. His contribution to academics and research includes 183 citations.

This institute offers exclusive pharmacy education at various levels, Bachelor of Pharmacy (4 Years), Doctor of Pharmacy (6 years for beginners), Doctor of Pharmacy (3 years for B. Pharm holders), Master of Pharmacy (2 years) and Doctor of Philosophy (Pharmaceutical sciences; 3 years) and Diploma of Pharmacy (2 Years).
Today, the number of students in campus is about 720, whose admissions are made as per education regulations of state and central government of India. The institute also holds PIO/FN status to enrol students of foreign nations. With untiring efforts of faculty members, the institute has documented several national level student rankings, MOU with industries, gold medals, research grants, awards and rewards.
In the journey of vision and mission, it has achieved the status of “Research Centre for Pharmaceutical sciences” by the awarding University, the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University – Anantapur (JNTUA) as its first milestone and Autonomous status by University Grants Commission from the Government of India as the second milestone.
As the third milestone, with the existing technological and intellectual power, the institute is now moving forward for the research and educational collaboration with national and international universities and research centres to update and exchange the knowledge and skills in the area of Pharmaceutical innovations to the current needs.
Last but not least, I would like share that the entire team of the institution includes management, heads, faculty, staff and students. Our institution believes that “Quality is the matter to excel forever and to exist as well in any arena”.
